Terms & Conditions
Please take a few moments to read through these terms and conditions as they form the basis of a contract.
Further information can be provided on request if needed.

DEPOSIT

Once you have decided you would like me to make your cake you will need to pay an initial deposit which reserves your order for the date specified. This is a non-refundable deposit. For celebration cakes a £30 deposit is taken – the balance must be paid in full by bank transfer no later than 24 hours prior to collection. For wedding cakes a deposit of £100 will be taken, and the balance due no later than 1 week before the wedding date. Late or no payment may result in cancellation. By paying the non-refundable deposit you are accepting and agreeing to the terms and conditions set forth in this agreement.

 

CANCELLATIONS

In the unfortunate event that you have to cancel your order, you must give at least 2 weeks notice as some work may have already started i.e. sugar flowers, decorations etc and materials and ingredients may have been purchased.

 

COLLECTION/DELIVERY

Please be sure to schedule your collection/delivery time accordingly. When making your booking please specify the collection date – not the date the cake is needed. If the collection time/date needs to be changed please inform us asap. We reserve the right to decline any changes that may affect our schedule. A delivery charge for celebration cakes will be applied if delivery is farther than 5 miles than The Little Cake Kitchen. If you, or your representative choose to collect and set up the cake you assume all liability and responsibility for the condition of the cake once it has left our possession. The Little Cake Kitchen are not liable for any damage due to client handling once the cake has been picked up or delivered. All wedding cakes will be delivered and set up at the venue. Where possible, The Little Cake Kitchen will gain a signature to verify the cake was left in immaculate order.

 

CAKE STAND HIRE

Please note that all hired items must be returned to The Little Cake Kitchen within one week of the occasion. Failure to return the stand in the required time due to loss or damage will result in an invoice being issued for a replacement cost. Stand costs vary from £50 - £100.

 

BUTTERCREAM/GANACHE/SEMI-NAKED/NAKED DESIGNS

We recommend extreme caution if you are considering a cake decorated with buttercream or chocolate ganache for a summer wedding between May-September. We cannot accept any responsibility for any melting of the cake once it has left our possession as we have no control over the environment or venue temperature. We can however, advice you of designs that are less susceptible to melting and do everything within our control to reduce the impact of the cake.

 

 

CAKE DESIGN

You may wish to supply us with sample pictures or colours etc. Whilst an exact match cannot be guaranteed we will endeavour to meet your requirements the best we can. A complete copy of another cake artists work is discouraged.

 

NON-EDIBLE ITEMS

Many cake designs contain a small proportion of in-edible items. It is the clients responsibility to ensure these are removed before consumption. E.g. support dowels, ribbon, wires, flower picks, florist tape etc. We will provide information of all items to the customer on collection.

 

 

CAKE CARE

Please travel with cake flat, either in the boot or in the front footwell of your car. Please insure that your air conditioning is on and the car is cool. If your cake is a buttercream or ganache finish the air conditioning should be on the highest setting. Extra care should be taken whilst driving as some elements of the cake can be delicate. Once at home put the cake in the fridge and remove one hour before use. Fondant covered cakes should be kept as cool as posible, but does not need to be kept in the fridge.

 

FOOD ALLERGENS

The Little Cake Kitchen is NOT an allergy free kitchen. We cannot guarantee that our products are free from ingredients that may effect those with food allergies. The following ingredients are used in our kitchen: Milk and other dairy products, Eggs, Nuts - peanuts, almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts and coconut. Wheat and gluten.

 

At The Little Cake Kitchen we realise the seriousness of food allergies and recommend that you discuss any allergies with us prior to making your booking. We reserve the right to decline orders for clients with serious food allergies.
